Flower Magic with Bloom and Grow

All the best ideas are nutured from a single thought -instagram the little red hen jewellery
switching on ideas with a little floral help

Jewellery aside, flowers and photography are two of my favourite things, so late this Spring, I was excited to hear about Bloom & Grow, a new floral photography online course. The course is run by the fabulous Sara Tasker of Me & Orla and was just the thing I needed to add a creative boost to my images on Instagram.

I really enjoy analysing details in photographs and reading the messages behind images and most of all I love a creative challenge! I usually shy away from photos of myself, but thanks to incorporating flowers in the shot, I’ve even managed to post a few portraits too.

I thought I’d share my favourite images with you here

The format of the course is so suitable for flexible learning, each module has its own theme and with weekly homework, it gave me the motivation to keep creating.

I’m so pleased to have discovered lots of like-minded creative people through the course and it’s been really enjoyable to discuss ideas in detail, something I’ve missed doing for many years. Please take a look at the #bloomandgrowtogether hashtag on Instagram, you won’t be disappointed by the amazing creativity there!

I’ve had so much fun dreaming up these images, the process has allowed me to add more dimension to my photos, something I’ll be continuing to add to my jewellery images too. I’d love it if you’d pop over to my Instagram and follow my further floral adventures  there!

My Jewellery Takes a Trip to Wales

I’m very pleased to have been involved in a photo shoot with the talented Yeshen Venema as part of an exciting promotion with Folksy.  Along with lots of other lovely products all handmade by Folksy sellers, my jewellery took a trip to Wales. It was to be part of a shoot in the beautiful, rustic surroundings of the Welsh House and styled by Hilary Lowe.

I’d love to share the finished images with you, they are really beautiful!

A Trip to Greenwich Market

Last Friday, we had a rare day off and took a trip to Greenwich Market.  We hadn’t visited for a while and wanted to see what the recent renovations were like.

We walked through the leafy park and then set off to explore the new, updated market.

I’ve had some of my jewellery for sale in the shop Things British for a while now and wanted to visit in person to restock.

Things British is a lovely little shop, just off of the main market and only sells gifts designed and made in Great Britain.

Made in Ashford – Supporting Local Businesses

wp-1460491804108.jpeg

For the last five months I have been showcasing my handmade jewellery in the Independent shop, Made in Ashford, in Ashford Kent. The shop started life as a pop -up shop and since January has become a permanent fixture. The shop is a great place to support local creative businesses.

The lovely folk at Love Ashford ( the town’s regeneration team) wanted to interview me about my time at the shop and you can read about it here:
